The technology road now puts at our disposal new techniques and materials for road construction, but the asphalt in its different uses and forms of implementation, continues to maintain leadership as a valid alternative in all fields of use, leadership has been achieved thanks to the success in its use over the years by all who are associated with the construction of roads in Ibero-Latin America and the world.
Asphalt mixtures have suffered a series of amendments to be consistent with the policies of environmental conservation, the welfare of users and the demands of a globalized world. These changes have been made thanks to the contribution of research from many of our colleagues from academia, laboratories or in their daily tasks.
These studies have been published in various scenarios, including the Congress of the Ibero-Latin American Asphalt – CILA. The First Congress of Latin American Asphalt was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1981, in its second edition, held in 1983 in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, Spain and Portugal joined, making it ever since in the event ibero Latin America's largest asphalt sector which has the active participation of more than twenty countries.
